Meet our Customers

Alex Scott

Alex Scott was a firemen and driver of the Duchess class locomotive for the L.M.S. and British Railways. He wrote a book about his experiences during World War Two called "A Wartime Footplate Man"

Today at age of 83 he is building a 5" gauge, 1" scale, four cylinder ModelWorks Duchess purchased for him by his son Malcolm.

When he's not busy with that project he works as a volunteer station master on the North Norfolk Railway.

 The Duchess is his first ModelWorks project.

Mike Merrick

Mike Merrick is an electronics engineer by profession.

Mike, who is in his late 30's got involved in the live steam hobby by purchasing a ModelWorks G.W.R  57XX pannier tank locomotive for his Father. He enjoys the technology of steam and works to improve his locomotives.

Mike has since acquired several other ModelWorks products in 1" scale including a British Railways 9F "Evening Star", a Southern Railway King Arthur, and a G.W.R. 14XX tank loco. He is currently building his first ModelWorks 1.5" scale locomotive a 7.25" gauge L.N.E.R. A4 Pacific.
